About Us

Next Step Counseling is a counseling center and educational facility serving individuals and couples. Our services are available to all whom wish them. Care is provided on a sliding scale, based on family income. Licensed professionals at Next Step Counseling work with a variety of clients with a wide range of individual, couple, and family concerns from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Next Step Counseling, as an active referral source, will work in partnership with any state and community organizations to provide counseling services for their clients.

It has been a primary goal of Next Step Counseling to reach those who do not typically have access to quality mental healthcare and counseling. Now, that goal is becoming a reality. Next Step Counseling has expanded to two locations in Texas: Victoria and Luling. While we are headquartered in Victoria, we are setting up shop in a smaller rural community so that we can better serve those in need. We accept most major health insurances as well as Medicaid. Additionally, we offer a sliding scale based on annual income for cash clients. It is the policy of Next Step Counseling to not turn anyone away due to financial constraints.

In addition to providing professional counseling services, Next Step Counseling is a training facility providing guidance, education, and job opportunities to Licensed Professional Counselor Interns and graduate level counseling practicum students. Delores, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, provides supervision and mentorship to Licensed Professional Counselor Interns, both within and outside of Next Step Counseling, who are in the process of accruing the hours necessary for full licensure. In doing so, she aims to provide those who are new to the counseling profession with valuable insight and experience that will help them throughout their respective careers.
